The Return of the Marabou

Hi guys!!! Long time no speak!! Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to tell you guys about the return of my amazing Marabou bag!! I've had a lot of readers and friends ask me where I got my fluffy pink bag that I used in this post and I'm so glad that River Island have decided to bring back this beauty. The High Street brand had a preview of their Autumn/Winter 2014 collection on Wednesday, and among their key pieces was the Marabou bag, and in different colours too!! I can''t wait to snap up my own for winter.

Wow! I am so so sorry for the lack of posts for such a long time, beauties, I've just been extremely busy as of late. Between planning my next few collaborations and styling projects, and my actual job I've just not had the time to blog. It's been a really busy start to the year but I assure you that you'll definitely be seeing the fruits of all my hard work on the blog pretty soon. 

My Style Journal: One Year On...

Wow, guys! It's been exactly one year since I started blogging and I am so excited to have reached this landmark! I remember being so skeptical before I started blogging; from figuring out what blog outlet to use to coming up with a name for my blog and then grappling with the fact that at the time - and even now - I didn't have a proper DSLR camera. But, I thank all those people who encouraged me to just start and do my best, and who are still encouraging me. You know yourselves ;)

Getting to The Greek

 Hi everyone! So this is just a quick post on what I wore to church on Sunday. I was going for the Grecian look with this beautiful maxi dress I got from Zara a while ago. I decided to add a bit of flare to my look by wearing this gorgeous statement necklace, also from Zara, as my sole accessory. I didn't think I needed earrings as I didn't want too much happening with my overall look. Anyway, enjoy the photos *kisses*

The Master

Hi everyone!! Guess who graduated on Thursday???! That's, right, yours truly. Yay!! I can't even explain how excited I am to have graduated with a Masters of Science in Urban Regeneration - hence the post title ;) I definitely did not do it on my own. All the glory belongs to God Almighty. He saw me through those tedious 16 months and helped me to go from strength to strength even when I felt like the whole world was on my shoulders. He is faithful.

The IT Sweater

Wow you guys! I wish you knew how excited I am about this post simply because of this beautiful sweater! This is my IT SWEATER and it is such a statement piece! I first saw this sweater in the white (here) and was so drawn to it, but it was not until I saw it in this blue and black print that I was totally convinced about it. It was like love at first sight! I particularly love this sweater because it is so unique with its bizarre and ornamental floral print that is somewhat reminiscent of Baroque Art.

Nigerian Independence Day Celebration

Hi lovelies! So two weeks ago my country celebrated 53 years of Independence!! Yay!! 

Since August a very good friend of mine, Jide, started planning a Nigerian Independence Day Celebration in Sheffield and to my surprise, he asked me to organise a fashion show for the event. I was so chuffed that he asked me. I was even more happy that it would be the first fashion show I would organise so I was really looking forward to the challenge. And, boy, it was just that indeed. The purpose of the event was to celebrate and appreciate not only Nigerian culture but African culture and history. Featuring a drummer, comedian, photographer and designers from different backgrounds and cultures the show was a huge success. Myself and the other organisers were so happy with the turn up of people and with the way the show went after many weeks of hard work, planning and organising.

The show was organised under my former university, Sheffield Hallam, and they were so pleased with the success and organisation of it that they want to establish a Nigerian Students Society (separate from the African and Caribbean Society). How exciting is that?!! It's amazing the kind of impact just one person's determination can make. Well done, Jide!
