So I had the opportunity of collaborating with an incredibly talented YouTube make up guru and a very good friend of mine, Dee Kalz. I honestly can't tell you guys how much fun we had; it was a day filled with excitement and laughter, intertwined with so many sporadic moments. The day actually started with Dee doing my make up and hair, followed by me styling her. Find Part 1 of our collaboration here on Dee's Youtube channel where she does my make up and Part 2 here where I styled her.
Three Ways to Wear the Midi Skater Skirt
The midi skater skirt remains a key piece to add to your wardrobe this season - more so a pink one as the colour still dominates even during this Spring/Summer. So, here's three ways to wear the midi skater skirt this season. I particularly love the last look, A Walk In the Park; it's so adorable and I can definitely see myself wearing this outfit to a picnic this summer.
LOOK 1 - DATE NIGHT |
Date night need not necessarily be a date with a guy, it could be a date night with your girlfriends! For this evening look, wear a simple black top so that the skirt is the only domineering colour. Glam your look up with a long necklace and open toed heeled sandals. Throw a little leather jacket over your shoulders for those evenings when there's a chill in the air.
LOOK 2 - TAKE ME TO CHURCH |
It's all about colour this coming summer, from colour blocking to mixing prints, incorporate as much colour to your outfits before it's Autumn again! Also, work with colours that compliment you; once I found out that I'd be styling Dee I knew bright colours such as pink and green would look excellent on her. A simple, sheer white shirt brings in the cool on hot summer days and a fur bag such as this one adds some excitement to the look.
LOOK 3 - A WALK IN THE PARK |
How adorable is this look?! I just love it. Perfect for a picnic or BBQ, or even a simple walk in the park; throw on a wicker hat to keep your tresses and face from the heat, and a wicker basket lined with fabric is perfect for holding your essentials (I lined this basket with a burlap fabric I got with a different bag I purchased from Zara here). A simple stripped black and white top adds that extra bit of fun to the look and keeps you on trend with the monochrome theme.
We had a range of accessories and outfits to choose from, both from mine and Dee's wardrobes.
